We don't really get much snow here and it very rarely last for more than a day so T was very excited yesterday morning to have snow and she managed with a little help from Daddy to make her very first snowman.
I've been busy crafting the last couple of weeks knitting christmas tree decorations for a friend, making my first ever hat on DPN's (and I'm amazed it's turned out ok) and other assorted dolls and things for madams christmas presents. I'm really pleased with how my seasonal swap item has gone. I'll post some pictures after 21st Dec but it's the first time in years I've tried applique and I'm really pleased with how it went. I hope my swap partner likes it.
Apologies for lack of photos but our mac died last week so until we can get everything off the hard drive I don't have any access to photos.
We're going to be really festive today and get our tree up and house decorated even though we're all feeling awful. T has had a cold on and off for the last couple of weeks (the joys of starting school), I started with it last week and N started with it today. Oh the joys but at least hopefully the cold will be over by christmas
On the 12th October, I'll have been blogging for a whole year. Ok not always very regularly I'll admit, so I'll try to do better in my second year of blogging.
I've pinched an idea from a few of my favourite blogs and I'm going to do a little giveaway. Leave a comment by Sunday 18th October and I'll pick a winner to get a halloween inspired gift (Don't get too excited, it'll only one of my knitted creations)
I've moved our seasonal table to give us a bit more room and now it's more a seasonal sideboard! I've been naughty and bought a few things of Etsy, one of which is the autumn felt tree, which comes with orange, white and green wool so you can change the tree according to the seasons. I was good only buying a few things, I could spend a fortune on there. Anyway here is our new seasonal sideboard.
We haven't been up to much this week as T has been off school with a virus, poor thing, but over the last few weeks we've been having a great time visiting the Museum of Science and Industry and Dunham Massey and here a few highlights.
Well we've had quite a few changes in the last couple of weeks. T has started school and has been doing half days for the last two weeks but on Monday it will be her first full day. We've had a few tears but it's not been nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. She seems to be enjoying it and has made some friends which is the main thing. The one thing I'm going to watch is that she's a very inquisitive little girl and always asks questions about things so I'm hoping that being at school doesn't know that out of her. She is so keen to learn and I'd hate that to change.
The other main change is that I'm now working full time. For the last few weeks I've only been working a couple of days but I've just done my first full week of 37.5 hours. It's certainly weird going back to working in an office but I've been really lucky that this job came up so quickly. It' s very similar to what I was doing before I became a Mum which has helped me get back into the world of full time working. The only downside is that I'm not able to take T to school or pick her up which has really bothered me. It's not ideal but she loves that her Dad is taking her to school everyday and picking her up 3 days a week and then my Mum and Dad are collecting her the other two days.
I'm Michelle. I live in the north west of England and I'm a Mum to a bright, funny, bossy and challenging 4 year old. Even after 4 years I still feel pretty clueless in most aspects of parenting. This blog is just my general ramblings on life and being a parent.
